Howards Cams “460 EFI Guys Stage 3” Kit for EFI and Carb 460
.513 / .536 Lift, 112 LSA, 215 / 225 duration @ .050 lift, 4 degrees advance cut in for 108 intake centerline.
You can absolutely hear this cam. It is a tire frying animal. It is actually an improved upon design based off of the towing beast cam design. It has worked great with EFI. We have run even larger cams than this with the stock efi computers, but we learned to trim those back to this spec to be much happier for a daily driver, but still deliver great results. This one has an aggressive exhaust tone, flat and strong torque curve, and will work with Speed density EFI and make great power.

DON’T BUY JUNK CAMS NO MATTER THE NAME ON THE BOX. THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT WILL WORK WITH EFI OR THEY WILL WIPE OUT YOUR ENGINE, IT’S NOT WORTH SAVING A LITTLE MONEY.
These cams will work with your stock speed density 460 computer and deliver great results. Check out our youtube videos if you want to see them in action. Don’t shy away, they also work amazingly well in carbureted engines.
After years of trying and losing over 20 cams we decided to modify our favorites and make our own lines. We partnered up with Howard’s cams to get these custom made (IN THE USA) to our specifications. Like so many others, we have fought low quality cams failing on us (most of them with a big name on the package). Not willing to take any chances ever again, we are thrilled to have partnered up with Howard’s Cams, and their unrivaled quality. To be able to run this camshaft you have to swap to the included springs, locks, and retainers. We have always had great spring pressure with this setup, we rarely even put shims under these to hit our targeted 105 lbs. of seat pressure. We have never lost a single Howards camshaft, and to make sure you don’t either, we are sending you the same break-in oil we run. We also include a bottle of the zddp additive that the oil manufacturers stopped adding to protect your engine. The 16oz bottle we include is enough for 10 oil changes to come.

Lisle Valve Holders
You can use these in the truck or on an engine stand. Simply hook up your air compressor line and the air pressure will hold the valves from dropping while you install valve springs. These Lisle valve holders have 2-sizes for both 14mm and 18mm spark plug threads.

Premium Springs, Locks, and Retainers Kit: 1988-1997 EFI 460
Do you wonder why your 460 has lost power over the years? Well after 30 years your springs are dead and soft. They should be 100 lbs at the seat, and over 250 at the nose of the cam. Most we measure are lucky to have 45 lbs at the seat and only 130 over the nose. Often they are even worse off than this. This means you are floating valves and losing compression, power, and efficiency. We have measured hundreds of combinations and partnered with Howards Cams to bring you a premium set-up that will increase the available lift to more than any other combination can offer. This will allow you to run our stage 2, stage 3, and stage 3 + cams without having to have the guides cut down. You will want to still measure the available room as a few sets of the early E7 heads had a little less.

Taller Valve Cover Modification for Clearing Roller Rockers
To clear the Harland Sharp adjustable roller rockers we have to add a 1/2″ extra height to your factory 460 EFI Valve Covers. Our price includes finishing and painting the valve covers in our gun metal pewter color and including the longer center bolts you will need.
Upgrade Kit: Valve Springs, Valve Locks, and Retainers
Your original valve springs have gone soft after 30 years. In fact, they were too soft to start with. That is a big part of why your truck falls on its face. The original springs only gave you clearance to run a 486/520 lift camshaft. This kit will put your spring rate better than it ever was, and it will give you clearance for as much as a 518/545 lift camshaft.

Valve Spring Compressor Tool
These work in the truck to compress your valve spring to upgrade your springs, locks, and retainers. They are the easiest to use, and one of the only tools that will allow you to pull the valve covers, swap springs and hardware in the truck. We find they work even better without the handle. Simply swap the handle for the bolt and tighten it down with a wrench.
